"I am always searching for peace,
but it is the forest fire that forces
open the pinecones,
allowing new trees to grow."
I was told that quote has to do with Redwood Trees, the tallest trees in the world. I realize that markets, too, have their wildfires — that shake loose opportunities for those patient enough to plant seeds amidst the ashes. We are not rattled by the flames; we’re watching for the sprouts. Markets, like life, have a way of keeping us on our toes. Here at B.S.F.S Investment Advisors, we don’t get caught up in the midway noise. We’re not after the thrill of the latest loop-de-loop; we’re building something enduring, year after year. Our approach remains as straightforward as ever—guided by principles that have weathered decades of market seasons. Our L.O.R.D.S Strategy compass: Longevity, Opportunity, Returns, Diversity, and Stability. At B.S.F.S Investment Advisors, we root ourselves in the vital arteries of American enterprise — retail, leisure, healthcare, chemicals, staple goods, and technology. These are the businesses that churn, powering the nation’s engine.
We are increasing our position in our Fidelity Technology Fund with our clients that are currently buying, confident it will find its stride again. Sure, the market doesn’t hand out guarantees — past performance isn’t a crystal ball — but it’s the closest thing we’ve got to a trail map. In the last 39 years, there have been only two other time periods when our Tech Fund has been in this good a position to buy. Meaning that, the fund's three-year return is underperforming its lifetime return by as significant a margin, making it a great opportunity to buy. Let me clarify:per a 2019 article, Kiplinger Financial Magazine's choice of the best mutual fund of all time — our Fidelity Technology Fund — is now in one of the best buying positions of the last 39 years.
If this resonates with you — if you're mulling over your own investments, know someone who is, or haven't yet made your contribution to your retirement account for 2024 (the deadline is April 15th) — don’t hesitate to call or drop us a line. We’re not just investing; we are planting redwood trees.
Also watch in our next quarterly update there will be a significant development in B.S.F.S. Investment Advisors that we are very excited to announce.
Sincerely yours,
Samuel Schaeffer
